The Origin of Mount Meru, Sakyavala(Universe), and the Cosmic Landscape

The water gradually dried up and decreased until it reached the top of the Meru mountain, where the Tavatimsa celestial realm was located.

The place where the Meru mountain would be was very muddy. It was like a mixture of soil and water. It gradually became muddy, and over time it became a large mudstone.

This mudstone was as round as a cartwheel and had an area of 840,000 square yuza (840,000).

The water around this mudstone was very clear and shallow.

Then, over time, the clear water dried up and decreased. The Meru mudstone did not decrease, but the solidified mudstone remained in its permanent place and grew thicker and thicker.

As the water receded, when it reached the top of the cosmic wall, the water became viscous again. After a while, it became a large mass of mud and mud. The rest of the water was very clear and thin.

The Origin of Seven Mountains and Oceans

When the water receded, the seven mountains, each separated by water, were formed.

  1. Yugandhora Mountain
  2. Kushandora Mountain
  3. Karavika Mountain
  4. Sudassana Mountain
  5. Naimindhara Mountain
  6. Vinataka Mountain
  7. Ashaka Mountain

The Origin of Four Large Islands

Then the Himalayas, the Great Mountain, the Small Mountain, the Golden Rock, the Land of the Sea, The mud also formed as usual.

In the places where the seven great lakes would have formed in the Himalayan mud, there was pure water as a drop of water.

In the places where the oceans would have formed, there was pure water as a drop of water.

The ocean surrounding the outer part of the Ashkan mountain and the ocean at the foot of the universal mountain were connected to each other at the four corners of the mountain.

Between these seven oceans, four large islands with five hundred small islands each were formed on the four sides of the mountain. The size of the four large islands was as follows:

Eastern Island~7000 Yuzana

Southern Island~10000 Yuzana

Western Island~7000 Yuzana

Northern Island~8000 Yuzana
