Exploring Earth’s Rotation, Orbit, and Their Astronomical Effects

The planet Earth, where humans live, is round, slightly concave at the South and North Poles, and tilted at the Equator (the path of the sun). It rotates on an axis that passes through the South and North.

Because of this rotation, there are periods of day and night.

For example, in Myanmar, it is noon (12 hours), while in America it is dark and night (12 hours).

Since the Moon revolves around the Earth, we see the phases of the Moon, which are caused by the reflection of the Sun’s light, such as the new moon and the waning moon.

The Earth and the Moon revolve around the Sun in their orbits. This determines a year.

During this year, the distance of the sun causes the seasons. In the tropical zones, there are three seasons: summer, autumn, and winter, while in the temperate zones, there are four seasons: spring, summer, autumn, and winter.

This planet Earth also does not rotate in a straight line on its north and south axes. Because its axis is slightly tilted, the Earth’s orbit around the sun has two paths: the northern path and the southern path.

Again, when it changes from the southern path to the northern path, and from the northern path to the southern path, it passes through the equator, forming a central meridian.

Therefore, the path of the sun is described in (3) ways. Due to the tilt of the earth, the path of the sun is formed into Uttarayan, Dakshinayan, and Mijjeyan.

This tilt of the earth’s axis is called Declination in the Surya Siddhanta, which is respected by Myanmar and India, and is called Eclipticin Clination in Western astronomical texts.

While the 12-season circle, along with the constellations, is gradually moving from the eastern horizon to the western horizon, the planets in the solar system, including the moon, which is close to the earth, are also moving from west to east.

However, since the movement of the (12-season circle) is much faster than the movement of the planets, if you look at it casually, it seems that the planets are moving from east to west.

Only when viewed against the backdrop of the constellations of the 12 zodiac signs does it become clear that the planet is moving from west to east.
