The Nature of the Universe According to the Buddha

The Buddha’s view of the universe, the Buddha made a very broad statement about this universe:

“The world is not self-existent,

The world is not self-existent, O monk, not self-existent, nor self-existent.

Yamsinta, ummadassa, viyata, abvavissa,

“Monks…it is not proper to contemplate the existence of the world (universe) that is, the moon, or “It is only for suffering and toil.”

However, the Buddha himself, especially in his teachings, the Abhidhamma Dhamma, had extensively spoken about the universe (the world).

In the 43rd year of his life, in the 7th year of his life (94 years of the Maha Era, 581 BC), the Buddha preached the Abhidhamma Dhamma to all the devas and brahma in the Tavatimsa heaven for three months without stopping.

The Abhidhamma Dhamma preached in that heaven was briefly retold to the wise sage Sariputta in the human world. The Abhidhamma sermons he preached in that brief form were (7) books, (2,000) Dhamma corpuses, (4,987) pages, and (12) books. There is.

In the Abhidhamma (7) this universe (world) is explained.

The place where living and non-living beings exist in this universe is defined as the realm.

The universe (world) is

sakkamiva vālatepavateti sakkavalo

“sakkamiva – like a circle, vālatepavateti – rising from the water, iti – therefore, sakkavalo – sakkavalo.

“The great sphere floating in the water is called the universe. This is what the Buddha Gautama explained, that the sun, moon, stars, planets, and all the worlds in the infinite universe have a perfect round shape.

The Buddha said that the universe is a space-time world where matter is a collection of atoms. These atoms are formed by the four elements of water, earth, air, and fire, and are constantly being created and destroyed.

The Buddha said that the human body is like the universe. It is said that millions of cells in the human body are destroyed every second, and new cells are formed every second.

(If there are too many cells in the human body, diseases can occur, and only when the cells are in balance, can they be healthy?
